Name: Renee Hambly

Do you have a favourite Pilates move that instantly puts a smile on your face?

Climb a Tree. If you know what I mean, you can understand she's a goodie.

What's your go-to pump-up song that gets you in the mood for a Pilates class?

I by Kendrick Lamar. Always a vibe and gets me in the mood for some Pilatttesss.

Share a funny or heartwarming story from your Pilates journey that still brings a smile to your face.

The impact I had on athletes in Spain during a Figure Skating camp was incredible. Many were new to Pilates, but they continued their practice at home after the camp, and I'm still in touch with some of them today. So heartwarming to know they shared my love for Pilates and that allowed them to achieve greater things in their sport like it did mine.

Tell us about your favorite post-Pilates ritual that helps you unwind and recharge.

Taking my pooch Trixie for a walkies and listening to a new poddy. My recco would be 'Do you f***ing mind' by Alexis Fernandez, a Pilates Queen!

What's the one move you love to teach & why?

This is a hard one! There are soooo many. Simple but a goodie. Side lying legs ANY variation. They hit all the right spots. A move that you cannot escape the 🍑 haha.

What's the funniest thing you have heard clients say during your classes?

I wear a mic with an amplifier attached to a belt. One day it was swung around my behind, and a client commented, 'Renee, you're just talking out of your a$$.' Which was completely true. Needless to say, we lost it 😆.

How would your loyal clients describe your classes?

Engaging, supportive, always FUN!

What's your ultimate piece of advice for someone starting their Pilates journey?

Embrace patience and consistency. Progress may not be immediately obvious, but stay committed to your practice, and over time, you'll experience the incredible benefits Pilates offers. Practice profession over perfection ALWAYS!
